Understanding

What does “understanding” mean? We often feel like we’ve understood when reading a sentence or listening to a story, but we are not able to do so. In my case, I sometimes intend to understand a instruction from my boss, but unfortunately I cannot when looking back later. This book shows you several solutions to solve the problem. I will be conscious of whether I really understood it or not,and to what extent I could understand it.
